Gpa’s little book

In 1959 my Grandfather, George Pickard, wrote down his childhood memories of a poor rural life.  It was jotted down on a notepad without commercial incentive (or much punctuation!). I only knew of it after his death and I had it typed out for family because it was so interesting. Many years later (in 2000 in fact) the old typescript was discovered by a person connected to the family who contacted me to ask if she could publish it as she was a ‘small book’  (7″ x 5″)  publisher ‘Millrace’ This she did, and I did the illustrations, which was fun. I think some of the books are still available on-line.
